Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, the puppet authorities sealed the Hyderpora residence of the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani, today, to foil the launching ceremony of his book on great poet and philosopher, Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
The authorities deployed heavy contingents of Indian police around the residence-cum-office of Syed Ali Gilani in Hyderpora area of Srinagar where people from different walks of life were expected to attend the release function of the book “Iqbal: Rohi Deen Ka Shinasaâ€. However, nobody was allowed to cross the barricades erected in front of the residence of the APHC Chairman.
A large number of people including the President of Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Main Abdul Qayoom, intellectuals, Z G Muhammad and Abdul Majeed Zargar and Hurriyet leaders, Zamruda Habib, Raja Mehrajudin Kalwal, and others held a protest in Hyderpora against the restrictions on the function. They also condemned the puppet authorities’ undemocratic action.
On the other hand, Hurriyet leaders, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash and Muhammad Ramzan Khan in their statements also slammed the puppet authorities for disallowing the launching ceremony of Syed Ali Gilani’s book. This is obviously the frustration of the puppet regime which has turned the entire occupied Kashmir into a garrison, they said.
