Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The four mega projects which had been initiated to supply water to twin cities have been delayed due to shortage of funds.
The four mega projects have been stopped which were aimed at fulfilling the water requirements of Rawalpindi Islamabad citizens for the next 100 years. Three new dams and a water project were initiated to bring water from Neelum (Jhelum) River via Murree to Islamabad. No work is likely to be started on these projects in new fiscal year .
Moreover, the work on Chareh Dam, Dotara Dam is unlikely to be started in next fiscal year, as the funds have not been allocated in next year budget till now.
