Hasan doubtful for Test series

LAHORE: Pakistan’s young pacer Hasan Ali is doubtful for the upcoming Test series against the West Indies after he suffered a groin injury during fielding in the first innings of the three-day practice match in Montego Bay against the President XI.

According to the information released by the PCB late on Monday night, the 23-year-old right-armer will undergo rehabilitation in order to get fit before the three-Test series opener scheduled for April 21-25 in Kingston, Jamaica.

“On clinical assessment there is strain to one of his adductor muscles. He will undergo progressive rehabilitation to regain strength in the groin. Currently, we are confident that he will recover in time to be able to play in the Test series against West Indies. We will continue review his situation as he progresses through rehabilitation stages and give an update later when we are satisfied with his successful recovery or progress,” read a statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Hasan’s injury.

Hasan, who is yet to make his Test debut, has so far played 16 ODIs and seven T20 Internationals, capturing 29 and 10 wickets, respectively.
