Civilians clash with forces to rescue besieged youth in IOK

Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, clashes erupted after Indian forces launched a cordon and search operation in Qazipora Chak village of Chadoora area in central Kashmir’s Badgam district.

The troops cordoned off Qazipora Chak on the suspicion of presence of mujahideen in the area. As the operation was under way, the civilians took to streets and pelted stones on the forces.

The troops used force and fired teargas shells on the protesters.

It is worth mentioning here that for the past some months a new trend has developed under which civilians take to the streets after receiving information that mujahideen are besieged by the Indian forces in a certain locality. The protesters march towards the site to rescue the mujahideen surrounded by Indian troops. During such an attempt, a teenage boy Aamir Nazir Wani was martyred when troops opened fire on protesters in Pulwama district, recently.
