LAHORE: Online tickets for the highly anticipated Pakistan Super League final in Lahore sold out within 24 hours after they were made available Wednesday.
Priced at Rs12,000, online tickets for the Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis enclosures were made available to cricket enthusiasts on February 28.
Long queues outside banks were observed, as fans from across the province waited to get their hands on the tickets for the PSL final set to be held on Sunday, March 5 at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Cricket enthusiasts said that they had queued as early as 7:00 AM outside the bank. Many expressed their dismay over the fact that banks were not selling the cheapest tickets that cost Rs500.
On Tuesday PCB Chairman Shahryar Khan announced that a thousand tickets will be sold for Rs500. Prices range from Rs500 to Rs12000.
Clashes were reported near Liberty market where the police’s assistance was required to control a crowd disgruntled at the “non-cooperation†of the bank.
