Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Special Assistant to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on political affairs Dr. Asif Kirmani has once again asked Jamaat Islami Azad Kashmir to vacate the two seats of AJK Legislative won with the support of his party Pakistan Muslim League (N).
In a statement issued here on Sunday, Kirmani said Jamaat Islami on one hand trying to implicate PML- N leadership by becoming a party in Panama case and on the other hand our it is an ally PML-N in Azad Kashmir.
“If PML-N is bad party, JI should resign from the two seats of Legislative Assembly in Azad Kashmir so that we elect our own workers on these seats. Our workers in Azad Kashmir are waiting for the decision of Sirajul Haque, he added.
The PML- N leader said JI Pakistan Chief Sirajul Haque has failed to provide evidences in Supreme Court to substantiate his allegations and had to face embarrassment in the court. He said that Sirajul Haque cannot mislead the nation and the courts by leveling baseless and unfounded allegations.
When contacted, a JI spokesman rejected the assertion of PML-N leader regarding the JI- PML- N electoral understanding in Azad Kashmir. The Spokesman said that political situation in Pakistan has nothing to do with the seat adjustment arrangement between the two parties in AJK. It was give and take deal as PML- N supported JI on two seats reserved for technocrats in return of JI support to it on more a dozen seats. The PML- N support to JI was on reciprocal basis and attaches no strings with it, JI spokesman clarified.
