Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC-AJK) organized a prayer meeting in Islamabad, today, on the martyrdom anniversary of prominent Kashmiri liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt.
Muhammad Maqbool Butt was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar jail on this day in 1984 and was buried in the premises of the prison. The Hurriyet leaders on the occasion paid rich tributes to Muhammad Maqbool Butt and other Kashmiri martyrs and reiterated the resolve to continue the mission of these martyrs till complete success.
The said that the Kashmiri people had rendered unparalleled sacrifices for securing their right to self-determination and India, despite exhausting all its resources, had failed to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom movement. The leaders urged New Delhi to acknowledge reality on Kashmir and create an atmosphere for peaceful settlement of the lingering Kashmir dispute.
