Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) AJK government has finalized the preparation to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 (Sunday). Under the instruction of Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan, the Solidarity Day this year will be observed in innovative manners. According to a handout of the government on Friday, a special joint sitting of AJK Legislative Assembly and Jammu and Kashmir Council has been summoned, which is expected to be address by either President of Pakistan or Prime Minister.
While a grand rally to be led by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan would be held in Muzaffarabad and the special floats highlighting the Indian atrocities against people of Kashmir will feature the event of the solidarity day. Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan will lay the foundation stone of Burhan Muzaffar Wani Shaeed Chowk at one main area of the city.
The hallmark of the day would be human chain of Pakistanis and Kashmiris on all six bridges at the entering points of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to reiterate complete solidarity with Kashmiri people. Television channels and Radio stations would be airing special programmes to highlight different aspects of the Kashmir issue particularly Indian brutalities against innocent Kashmiris fighting for their freedom.
Besides portraying brutalities of the Indian forces through photo exhibitions and floats, special functions have also been planned at educational institutions to apprise the new generation of the Kashmir issue and heroic struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination.
These events will also help seek a peaceful solution to the Kashmir problem and remind the international community and the United Nations of their promises made to Kashmiris decades back for holding a plebiscite and respecting aspirations of Kashmiri people.
The day will dawn with special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir, victory of the freedom struggle and expression of solidarity with the Kashmiri people, followed by mass rallies, symposia, walks-for-peace, conventions, meetings and speech declamations.
A one-minute silence will be observed to pay honour to Kashmiri shuhada and pay tribute to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir for their continuous struggle to achieve their right of self-determination. Also, across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elaborate preparations are afoot to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day to reiterate support with the Kashmiris in the Indian occupied state in their just struggle for the freedom of their homeland
