Mirpur: (Parliament Times) The Mirpur Police has successfully conducted a raid in Mianwali area of Punjab province and arrested a dacoit involved in a big banditry took place in Mirpur city of Azad Kashmir.
According to detail three dacoits looted Rs 2.3 million on gun point from a currency dealer when he was traveling from Bun Khurman area of Mirpur to Mirpur city in July last year. The dacoits after looting the money fled to Punjab. The police party headed CIA Inspector Zafar Haider Shah and ASI Amar Dar conducted a raid in Mianwali on a tipoff and arrested the ring leader of the gang Zafar Iqbal, son of Muhammad Khan and recovered 1.6 million of the looted money from him.
The accused during the investigation also confessed to have looted several petrol pumps in Karachi, Rahim Yar Khan and other areas of Punjab. The Mirpur police also arrested 46 persons involved in drug pedaling and recovered 384 bottles of liquor from them during a special anti drug drive launched in the city.
