Islamabad: Saying that Islam is religion of peace and compassion, AJK President Sardar Muhammad Masood Khan has said terrorism and extremism have nothing to do with the religion of Islam.
Addressing at a reception hosted by Amir Jamaat Islami Azad Kashmir Abdul Rashid Turrabi in honour of World Muslim League Secretary General Dr. Muhammad Bin Abdul Karim Al Essa, he expressed his deep concern over the plights of Muslims in Mianmar, Palestine, Kashmir and other parts of the world.The president said members of Muslim community are being harassed in Europe and America on the pretext of terrorism and said Islam calls for moderation and tolerance and linking the religion with terrorism is nothing but to defame it. The AJK president welcome the visit of Secretary General World Muslim League and its delegation to Pakistan and AJK and thanked World Muslim League for supporting and highlighting Kashmiri peoples’ struggle for their right to self determination.The president said Indian forces deployed in Kashmir are engaged in genocide of Kashmiri people and added that around half a million people have been killed in occupied part of Kashmir in past 70 years. He said that supreme sacrifices offered by people of Jammu and Kashmir will not go waste. He said that AJK government has setup a fund to help the widows, children and families of Kashmiri martyrs. He demanded immediate halt of atrocities against innocent people, withdrawal of Indian forces from occupied territory, a holding of free and fair plebiscite in accordance with relevant UN resolutions to give opportunity to the people of Kashmir to decide their future.
