Mirpur:Â AJK Minister for Industries and Social Welfare, Muthrama Noreen Arif has visited Zobia Nazli School of Special Children here on the other day. On her arrival at the school, Director of the school Khawaja Zafar Iqbal briefed the minister about free education, residential facilities and food being provided to the disable children by the management of the school.
He told that school is being run in the rented building where wheel chair access is not available. He demanded that AJK government should reserve quota for the special children in government departments and provide free of cost land to NGOs for construction of school buildings with all requisite facilities.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Noreen Arif said special children need our special attention and those who are educating them with the aim to mould them into useful members of the society are serving a great cause. She said government is working on a project to provide technical education to disable children so that could get a respectable employment in the job market. The Minister met the male and female disable children and got information about their education and other facilities being provided by the school management.
Director Social Welfare Sardar Liaqat Hussain, Director Women Development, Sardar Sarfraz Abbasi, Assistant Director Social Welfare and Women Development, Sardar Muhammad Shakil Khan, Assistant Director Social Welfare, Afaq Hussain Querashi, Assistant Director Industries, Mirza Zahid Anjam, Estate Officer Industries and Commerce, Muhammad Ashraf Khattak Khan, Information Officer Muhammad Javed Malik, Irshad Baig, PML-N Women Wing leader, Muthrama Shah Bano Zafar, Youth Wing leader Malik Sohail Awan, Raja Naseer Ahmed and heads of different NGOs were also present on the occasion.
