ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Mamnoon Hussain extended their heartiest greetings to the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas.
In his message, President Mamnoon said, â€œOn behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan, I extend heartiest greetings to Christian community in Pakistan and all over the world on the joyous occasion of Christmas.â€
He said that Christmas reminds us about the teachings of Jesus Christ (PBUH) and that the teachings of Jesus Christ (PBUH) give us the message of love, peace, tolerance and compassion for humanity.
The President said that Jesus Christ is equally revered by both Christians and Muslims. We Muslims regard him as the chosen messenger of Almighty Allah, and like our Christian brethren, we also believe his teachings are a beacon of light not only for the Christian community but also for the whole humanity, he said.
He applauded the role of the Christian community in the development of the country.
â€œThe role of the Christian community in the progress and prosperity of our country is unforgettable and their patriotism is appreciated. We believe that Christian community will continue to play a vibrant role in the progress and prosperity of our homeland.â€
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also extended his greetings toÂ the Christian community on Christmas.
In his message, the Prime Minister said, â€œOn the auspicious occasion of Christmas, I extend my heartiest felicitations and wish Merry Christmas to our Christian brethren in Pakistan and all over the world.â€
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif acknowledged the diverse and productive role being played by all the minorities living in Pakistan, particularly the Christian community.
â€œI greatly appreciate their patriotism, devoted service and sincere attachment to the country and am confident that they will continue to play their due role for peace, progress and prosperity of Pakistan with complete dedication.”
