Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) Azad Kashmir has threatened to go on indefinite strike from January 9 if their demands were not accepted by government. Addressing a press conference, President of PMA Azad Kashmir Dr Sardar Wajid Ali Khan, Senior Vice President Dr Shoukat Hayat, Secretary Information Dr Basharat Hayat, Senior Vice President for Colleges Dr Waseem Abbasi, District President Dr Zia Afazal Kiani, Dr Ahsan, Dr Afraq, Dr Malik Niar, Dr Salim, Dr Mashkoor, Dr Shahid Habib and others gave January first as deadline for acceptance of their charter demands. They said if government fails to accept their demand, the doctors will go on two hours token strike from January 2. AfterJanuary 9, doctors of the all hospitals will protest on the roads and will not do their duties except emergency and at Line of Control. They said their demands including appointment of state subject doctors in the medical colleges of Azad Kashmir, sanction of teaching allowance, health allowance, qualification allowance, career structure and appointment of ad-hoc medical officers through Public Service Commission.
