Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The President Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan welcomed appointment of Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat as new Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. He also congratulated the new Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa. In a statement, the President congratulated the outgoing Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif upon the conclusion of his tenure. The President lauded General Raheel Sharif’s efforts to combat terrorism. He also eulogized the dedicated services of outgoing CJCSC General Rashid Mahmood.
In his letter to Gen Zubair Mahmood Hayat, the President said “your rich professional career, firm grounding in strategic matters, wide exposure and outstanding stewardship of the organisations you have headed give the armed forces and the nation an accomplished chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee. He wished him spectacular success in his new assignment and said we are confident that, as always , you will do a great job as a leader. The President paid tribute to the armed forces of Pakistan of their robust support to the cause of Jammu and Kashmir. He hoped that under their command this glorious tradition would see new heights.
