AJK PM directs immediate relief to Indian shelling victims


Muzaffarabad:(Parliament Times) The Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan has directed the concerned authorities to immediately compensate the affectees of Indian shelling at Line of Control.

Official sources told here on Tuesday that requisite funds have been transferred to all Deputy Commissioners of the state.

The Chief Secretary Sikander Sultan Raja himself monitoring the progress on daily basis.

Meanwhile, with the collaboration of State Disaster Management Authority, all the Deputy Commissioners have been provided tents, blankets and other house hold items for the affectees

The prime minister, while expressing grief and extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, said armed forces of the country were exercising restraint in the face of Indian firing, which should not be “misunderstood as our weakness”.

The AJK PM said population facing bullets on LoC are great people and to look after them is the prime duty and responsibility of AJK governments, Farooq Haider said adding that all available resources would be utilised to provide immediate relief to the victims.

He said that it is a futile attempt of the Indian authorities to divert the world’s attention from the worst kind of atrocities they are committing in Kashmir. He called on the United Nations to take notice of ceasefire violations along the LoC. “Our armed forces do not initiate fire but will always respond in a befitting manner to any aggression,” Haider said.
