Cable Operators announce closure of services in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: (Parliament Times) Cable Operator’s Association staged a protest at the press club announcing closure of cable television service in the city if the government does not pay attention to their demands.

They demanded that the government put off its decision to hold auction for Direct to Home (DTH) satellite.

Pakistan Electronic Media Authority (Pemra) has announced an auction for establishing and operating the DTH distribution services in Pakistan on November 23. Officials have ruled out that the DTH services will ruin cable network in the country.
