Peace is very vital to make the CPEC successful and accrue maximum benefits from it.This deplorable attack on innocent civilians is the latest in a series of terrorist attacks in Balochistan this year that have resulted in the deaths of many people. Making this state of terror worse is the chronic underdevelopment in the province, which has left the majority of the population in abject poverty, and made them susceptible to recruitment into terrorist outfits. It is capacity building of civilian institutions that should be undertaken along with long-term steps to address the underlying structural issues, which remain the cause of this lamentable state of affairs. It has been too long that the province has been ruled by rich sardars who have kept its population weak and timid. Now government must step in and to ensure peace in the province and in the country.
