KARACHI: (Parliamrnt Times) – There are rumours of something cooking in Dubai these days as former President Pervez Musharraf, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) – Pakistan leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, former Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat ul-Ibad and Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Mustafa Kamal are all in Dubai right now.
There are also rumours of all these leaders meeting Pervez Musharraf as well. Other MQM – Pakistan leaders Khawaja Izhar ul-Hassan and Dr Farooq Sattar also visited Dubai during the last few days. However, there are as many denials of these meetings as there are rumours too.
Khawaja Izhar ul-Hassan, however, did meet Pervez Musharraf. Rumours of Farooq Sattar meeting Pervez Musharraf were also ripe but Sattar denied therumours. Sources told that Dr Ishrat ul-Ibad had also invited Sattar for a meeting but he had to leave Dubai as his seat was already confirmed.
Now, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui is also in Dubai but MQM – Pakistan spokesperson said that Siddiqui was in Dubai only for medical treatment.
The beauty of the coincidence is that Mustafa Kamal is also in Dubai these days. Sources claim that PSP leader is also in contacts with Musharraf.
Is it just by chance that all the major political players of Karachi are in Dubai? Or could there be something cooking in the financial capital of Asia?
