Brussels:Â Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider has urged the European Union to send a delegation to occupied Kashmir to asses grave human rights situation by directly talking to common people specially members of civil society of the occupied territory.
Addressing a seminar organized by Free Kashmir Organization (FKO) at Berlin, the capital city of Germany at the conclusion of his weeklong visit to Europe. He said, though Kashmiris are suffering for the past seven decades but atrocities against them have increased manifold during past four months and restrictions especially consecutive curfew has disturbed the life of the common people in the territory. “Use of pellet guns against peaceful people has become a routine matter in the recent month which resulted into injuries in faces especially eyes. A large number of the people wounded on the faces lost their eye sight,†he added.
He said that Kashmir EU-Week has become an important event on Kashmir in Europe and especially his visit to European Union (EU) would give productive outcomes in the context of Kashmir dispute.
Speaking on the occasion, President Free Organization, Dr Muhammad Saddique Kiyani welcomed AJK Prime Minister for undertaking a detailed visit to Brussels, Germany and European countries. He introduced Free Kashmir Organization, its contribution to highlight  Kashmir conflict in Germany and wider Europe and organization’s social and welfare activities in AJK.
He was invited by Kashmir Council Europe for participation in Kashmir EU-Week at European Parliament. During his three-day visit to Belgium, the EU headquarters, the Prime Minister attended various conferences, seminars, exhibitions and gatherings in connection with Kashmir EU-Week arranged by Kashmir Council Europe. He also met many European parliamentarians, high ranking officials, diplomats and media persons. Prime Minister of AJK also attended a conference on Kashmir in Holland arranged by Kashmir Peace Council headed by Raja Zeb Khan. He expressed gratitude to Kashmir Council Europe (EU) headed by Ali Raza Syed for inviting him to participate in Kashmir EU-Week in Brussels where he also met Kashmir diaspora came from many European countries.
Meanwhile, in his statement Kashmir Council EU Chairman Ali Raza Syed thanked Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider over his participation in Kashmir EU-Week at European Parliament in Brussels.
