Brussels: Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Raja Farooq Haider on Friday urged the European Commission on human rights to play an effective role in order to prevent Indian brutalities against the Kashmiris.
While talking to member of European Commission on human rights in Brussels, the Prime Minister also called the Commission for prompt notice on massive human rights violations by Indian forces.
Raja Farooq Haider said, Kashmiris need help from outside of the world special Europe should come forward to stop genocide and brutal crimes against humanity in Indian Held Kashmir.
Regarding impression of preference of commercial ties of the world with India, Raja Farooq Haider emphasized that Issue of human right could not be compromised for commercial interests as human values remain preferred in many parties of the globe.
He said, “Uprisings in Indian Kashmir was not a new phenomenon while Kashmiris are suffering for seven decades. About Uri’s incident, he said it was a Indian drama to divert attention from atrocities against the peaceful Kashmiris.â€
He said, “Thousands of the Kashmir have been injured and many killed in the latest assaults of Indian forces on peaceful people specially youth in IHK. Use of pellets guns became routine matter in the occupied territory.â€
He also condemned the prevention of two human rights activists from IHK from traveling in order to participate in Kashmir EU Week in Brussels.
He   also asked EU to keep in view human rights situation in the Held Kashmir while having free trade agreement with India.
Farooq Haider said, “Basic demand of Kashmiris, the right of self-determination should be accepted and human rights organizations of world should be allowed to travel Indian Held Kashmir (IHK).â€
He said, “The Kashmir issue is main hurdle in the progress of the region and it is because that resolution of Kashmir issue has been denied so far.â€
Later addressing a conference Kashmir organized by Kashmir Peace Council Holland in the Hague, the Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider arrived in Holland in second phase of his a weeklong tour to Europe. The Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider, Senior Minister Ch Tariq Farooq and MLA Raja Javed Iqbal were invited by Kashmir Council EU for participation in Kashmir EU-Week at European Parliament. The conference in Hague was also addressed by Chairman Kashmir Council EU (KC-EU) Ali Raza Syed, President Kashmir Peace Council Raja Zeb Khan, Pastor Father Arik Sarwar and Pakistan’s Ambassador to Netherland Ms Effat Imran Gardezi. A large number of people attended the conference. AJK’s PM said, he attended various programs in connection with Kashmir EU-Week organized by KC-EU at EU parliament Brussels in last three-four days. According to him, his meetings with members of EU parliament and officials of EU commission were effective as he hopes such events would have positive results in the context of international awareness on Kashmir issue.
AJK PM appreciated efforts rendered by Kashmir Council EU under chairmanship Mr Ali Raza Syed on Kashmir issue in Europe. A documentary film was also displayed during the Holland’s conference. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed said, Indian authorities want to continue their repressive rule over Kashmir but they cannot hold Kashmir for a long time. He also mentioned martyrdom of a number of Kashmiri youth and blindness of the hundreds of the people in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK). President Kashmir Peace Council Raja Zeb Khan said, we have to speedup struggle on Kashmir in Europe. He added that we are working in the context in coordination with Kashmir Council EU. He asked that world influential powers should stop atrocities against the Kashmiris and play their role for just solution of Kashmir dispute.
