Jammu, November 10 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, a judge of High Court quashed the draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) slapped on a Hindu, Sunit Singh, involved in the gruesome attack on a Kashmir-based truck in Udhampur.
After hearing Advocate Sachin Sharma appearing for the petitioner, whereas AAG WS Nargal appearing for the regime, , Justice Tashi Rabstan maintained that the attacker was juvenile at the time of commission of offence.
The detainee is entitled to the benefit under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2013, since he was a juvenile on the date of commission of the offence.
With these observations, the court allowed the petition and the impugned order of detention. The court also directed respondents to release the detainee from preventive detention.
