Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, Citizen Forum Sopore (CFS), a local rights organization, has said that the authorities of Baramulla jail are pitching the criminals lodged in the prison against the detained Hurriyet leaders to harass them. The CFS in a statement strongly reacted to a news item published in leading newspapers recently about clashes in Baramulla Jail, terming the police reports fabricated.
The reports had said that four cops and two inmates were injured in the clashes. The CFS said, the jail authorities are asking the inmates (criminals) to beat the Hurriyet leaders who have been lodged in the prison. “The inmates in the jail are being mistreated from the past four days.
Neither they have been given medicines nor shifted to any hospital for treatment which is really heart wrenching,†said the CFS Chairman, Ashraf Akash. He added that the jail authorities are also not allowing inmates to meet their relatives from the last five days.
