Islamabad: Federal Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid called on  AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan here at Kashmir House on Tuesday and discussed the matters related to the challenges of climate change in the country.
While talking to Federal Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid the Prime Minister said  it is a need to accelerate the efforts to address the challenges of climate change effectively.Raja Farooq Haider said the AJK  government was making efforts to tackle climate change by devising a effective policy on the matter along with formulating a framework for its implementation.
He said that in AJK, government was focussing on growing and to protect more forests and spend sufficient resources for seasonal plantation. The federal minister told the Prime Minister that federal government has allocated 2 billion of rupees for the plantation and other environmental friendly projects in Pakistan including AJK.
“Federal government would provide financial resources to AJK government for the protection of environment.”federal minister said. Federal minister was accompanied by officials from Climate Change Ministry.
