Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) The 139th birth anniversary of great poet philosopher and Mussawar-e-Pakistan Allama Muhammad Iqbal was observed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir today with reverence and enthusiasm.
Special functions and seminars were held throughout the state to pay homage to the poet of the east. In this connection a function was held in Muzaffarabad to pay tributes to great poet.
On this occasion speakers said that Iqbal’s philosophy of “Khudi†determined a new goal for the young generation of the subcontinent. Paying rich tribute to the Allama Iqbal they said that Iqbal created awareness among the Muslims for a separate homeland. His teachings through his poetry greatly inspired the Muslims who stood up for their rights under the umbrella of Muslim League. Speakers said that Allama Muhammad Iqbal was great supporter of Kashmir liberation struggle and played a pivotal role for awakening Kashmiris through his poetry. Azad Kashmir Radio Muzaffarabad is airing special programmes to mark the day.
