Islamabad: Some 13731 security personnel of Pakistan Army and Civil Armed Forces were currently deployed on the security of Chinese workers, working on various Projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Senate was told on Friday.
Keeping security concerns in view, some 9229 personnel of Pakistan Army and 4502 personnel of Civil Armed Forces are currently deployed on the duty.
Personnel employed by Civil Armed Forces include 2190 personnel of Punjab Rangers, 728 of Sindh Rangers, 843 of FC and 730 personnel of FC Baluchistan. Personnel employed by FC include persons from 42 tribes of KPK.
Khusru Bakhtiar while answering a question from Senator Samina Saeed during the question-answer session said that the Federal Government was considering a special discussion in Parliament regarding CPEC.
“As Pakistan was responsible for the security of CPEC, the Government was considering a suggestion to charge 1% security-cut.
