Srinagar: Reiterating that its incarcerated chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan is being deprived of medical aid in Tihar jail, Jammu Kashmir National Front has appealed the local and international rights organisations to take notice of the plight of Kashmiri prisoners lodged in the infamous jail under inhuman and unhygienic conditions.
Expressing serious concern over the plight of Kashmiri prisoners including its chairman, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, National Front has said that as per law prisoners have their particular rights but in India every Kashmiri political prisoner is seen as a criminal. The party said that prolonging Nayeem Khan and other’s incarceration in the infamous Tihar jail is the most undemocratic way to silence the political opponents. The party expressed serious concern over the failing health of Nayeem Khan who has developed several ailments in the jail and is not being provided any sort of medical aid. This aims at punishing the genuine political leadership of Kashmiri people.
Not only our leaders, but the common people are being crushed at the hands of the forces who kill the peaceful and unarmed prisoners at their will and wish. The party strongly condemned the gruesome murder of Khalid Ahmad Dar of Khudwani Kulgam at the hands of Indian forces. The party also paid rich and glowing tributes to Shaheed Farheen Ahmad Wani of Wanigund Khudwani who achieved martyrdom during a gunfight in Kokernag area. The party also condemned the use of blind force against unarmed protesters in Larnu Kokernag, Chadoora and Khudwani Kulgam. The party said that squeezing democratic rights of people can have dangerous results.
