Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed across the territory, today, against the killing and injuring of people by Indian troops in Dialgam area of Islamabad district.
Call for the strike has been given by the joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik. All shops and business establishments are closed while traffic is off the road in all major towns of the territory.
Indian troops had killed four people including a woman and injured dozens others during during a violent cordon and search operation in Dialgam area of Islamabad district, yesterday.
The resistance leadership in a joint statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian forcesâ€™ personnel had unleashed a reign of terror in the occupied territory to suppress the Kashmirisâ€™ ongoing freedom movement.
The occupation authorities have imposed restrictions in Srinagar, today, to prevent protests against the killings. Curfew like restrictions have been imposed particularly in areas falling under the jurisdiction of Nowhatta, Maharaj Gunj, Rainawari, Khanyar, Safakadal, Maisuma and Kralkhud police stations in Srinagar.
