Srinagar: In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown was observed in Ajas village of Bandipora district against the civilian killings by Indian troops in 1992.
All shops and other business establishments remained closed in the village to commemorate the killings of civilians by the troops of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) during a crackdown in the lawns of Jamia Masjid Ajas.
Pertinently six people were killed by the BSF troops on February 1, 1992, during the crackdown when they raised voice against brutal torture on youth during the siege.
