Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) Secretary State Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (SERRA) Sardar Muhammad Farooq Tabbasum has said that spending the help received by AJK government from International donor community on the welfare of the victims of earthquake is our responsibility. He said that the SERRA legal team has performs its responsibility with honesty and dedication by pleading the litigation against the SERRA and saved Rs.5billion which is highly appreciable act. He expressed these views during the briefing giving to him by Director Legal of the SERRA Abdur Rasheed Karnahi Advocate here on Wednesday. The director legal told the secretaries allow all the cases from civil courts to higher judiciary. Chief Engineering Imtiaz Awan Bahar, Director Planning Abdul Gani Mir, Director Admin Mir Muhammad Faheem, Assistant Director Zaffar Iqbal, Faiz Ali and others officials were also present on the occasion. The legal told that 562 cases has been filed against the SERRA since 2008, of which 310 cases have been decided by the courts so far. The decision of 294 cases has been decided in favour of SERRA while 16 cases were decided against it and hence the SERRA saved around 5 billion rupees in the process. The Director legal also told that around 252 cases against the SERRA are still pending in the courts.
