Nearly 2 million patients get medical treatment from PIMS’s OPD

Islamabad: As many as two million patients have visited the outpatient department (OPD) of Pakistan Institute (PIMS) for medical cleanup during the one year time period.
According to the PIMS annual report 2017, nearly 0.1 million patients especially those who were in critical condition patients had been admitted in different wards and 0.8 million patients given best medical treatment in hospital emergency.
It stated in report that overall 2.9 million patients that affected from different diseases had given medical treatment in hospital.
Currently PIMS hospital was bearing the burden of Punjab, KP and AJK patients along with Federal Capital that population had already reached to 2 million people.
It mentioned in report that during one year time period PIMS had conducted as many as 45000 major and minor operations of different nature.
While talking to “Online” hospital administrator Dr. Altaf Hussain said that daily 6500 to 7000 patients visit hospital’s OPD.
He said that presently hospital was facing acute shortage of doctors and nurses and one nurse was managing 10 to 15 patients daily.
