NAB restored in AJK

Muzzafarabad: (Parliament Times) NAB has been resorted to following surfacing of billion of rupees corruption in education department planning.
Ishfaq Ahamd Pirzada, a citizen of Muzaffarabad has taken the plea before NAB that heads of the educational institutions of AJK earlier used to purchase furniture and science equipment on their own for their respective institutions and only indent was got approved from education department.
But DG planning Maqbool Abbasi got approval for purchasing furniture and other equipment through planning department after he assumed office of director in 2007. Tender of only contractor Aziz Khan is accepted .
Purchase of land for construction of schools is also made through planning cell. Planning mafia settles the rate of land with owners at higher rate than market rate and receive the additional amount as commission from them. This job is being done mostly in Mir Pur and Poonch division.
DG collects commission from the land owners through his driver. Maqbool Abbasi grabbed bribery amounting to Rs 30000 from a land lord of Neelum district through his driver. Later he could not purchase land for some reason and he did not return the money he had received as bribe.
The landlord filed case in accountability court which is still pending hearing therein.
Vehicle No 770 was used in election campaign of a specific party during AJK election. Its evidence can be collected from the log book of this vehicle. The furniture is not supplied to educational institutions being located in far off areas. The cost paid against furniture goes to the pockets of mafia through fake receipts. Letter of district education officer Sidhnoti is available as proof. Mushtaq driver has stated in writing that government vehicle is being used mercilessly since the last 16 years and fake receipts are provided in the name of repair and diesel of vehicle. He has been asked not to make any correct entry in the log book.
This vehicle met accident in November 2010 near Barsala. The vehicle was being driven by son and accident also took place due to mistake of son. A sum of Rs 150000 were incurred on repair of the vehicle. This way heavy loss was caused to national kitty. Ishfaq Pirzada has sent application to prime minister, chief secretary, education secretary and director general anti corruption on this count.
