Masood urges diplomats in Islamabad to highlight HR violation in Kashmir

Islamabad: Describing right to self determination as origin of all human rights, AJK President, Sardar Masood Khan has called upon diplomatic community in Islamabad to help highlight the gross violation of human rights in Occupied Kashmir.

Addressing at a dinner hosted in his honour by a prominent educationist, Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq at a local hotel here on the other day, he said that people of Jammu and Kashmir are struggling for over 69 years for their right to self-determination recognized by India and Pakistan under UN Security Council Resolutions.

The dinner was attended by envoys of different countries, officials of Pakistan Foreign Office, media persons, members of the civil society. The ambassador of Greece and his wife, Deputy High Commissioner of UK, envoys of Myanmar, Hungary, Germany, Bosnia, Portugal, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Argentina, Palestine, Kirghizstan, Algeria, Nepal, Tunis, Romania, Syria, Sudan, High Commissioner of Mauritius, the head of DFID, Deputy head of mission of Hungary, Country Director British Council, Chief of Protocol of Foreign Office, Sahibzada Ahmed Khan, Director General Europe of foreign office Khalil Hashmi, MDOPF Mr and Mrs Habib ur Rehman, Additional Secretary, Syed Zulfikar Gardazi, CEO Muree Bruri, director Turkish ambessy Junaid Zahdi, Reactor COMSTAS Center, General retired Abdul Qayum, Mian Fazal Ilahi, Manzoor Malik, former senator Abdullah Riar, Zafar Bukhtarwi, Goar Zahid Malik, Waheed Hussain, Dr Amina Hoti, Khurshid Anwar, Senator Afrah Siab Khattak, Dr Mussadiq Malik, Brigadier Akmal Aziz, first lady Zahra Masood and Mrs Annaf Faisal.

The President Masood said India is trampling UN resolution and refused to implement them. He said its forces deployed in Kashmir are engaged in crushing the freedom struggle of Kashmiri people through the brute use of force.

The Kashmiris, President said are determined to continue their struggle despite all Indian brutalities. The president said that he will perform his responsibilities as ambassador of the country instead of representative of a particular area or constituency. He expressed his resolve to keep highlighting the Kashmir issue at all available world forum besides protecting the economic and social interest of the people of Azadi Kashmir. He invited the members of diplomatic community in Islamabad to visit Azad Kashmir and enjoy the hospitality of the people of Azad Kashmir and God grandeur beauty of the area. He further said that AJK has great potential of private investment in The sectors of tourism hydro -power generation and mineral. He said that Azad Kashmir is most peaceful area compare to other parts of the country
