Muzaffarabad: (Parliament times) Secretary Information Azad Kashmir Mansoor Qadir Dar has said his department would set its priorities straight for strengthening the professional capacity of working journalists and their welfare.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, the secretary said a strategy would evolve to consolidate the Press Foundation in the light of the recommendation of journalists to enhance the prestige of the profession of journalism. He said that under the directives of Prime minister and Chief Secretary a strong liaison would be established between the press and government and concrete steps would be taken at government level to address the problems of journalist’s community.
Terming Azad Kashmir a sensitive region, Dar said government is not oblivious of the problems and challenges being faced by the working journalists in AJK. The Secretary Information said that government is prepared to arrange requisite training to the journalists to build their professional capacity. He highly appreciated the efforts journalists for exposing nefarious Indian designs during the recent military escalation at Line of Control.
