Muzaffarabad: (Parliament Times) A consultative meeting was held here on Wednesday regarding the adoption and implementation of PPRA rules in Azad Kashmir with out compromising on interests of any stakeholder.
Directorate General of Public Relations hosted the meeting with Secretary Information Mansoor Qadir Dar in the chair. Director General Public Relations (DGPR) Raja Azhar Iqbal, Chief Editors and Editors of different newspapers attended the meeting.
President Azad Kashmir Newspapers Society Amer Mehboob, Sardar Zulfiqar Ali, Syed Afaq Shah, Zaheer Ahmed Jagwal, Ibrahim Gul, Sardar Dilpazeer Abbasi, Shehzad Lollabi, Zulfiqar Butt, Ishtiaq Ahmed Atish, Javed Chaudhary, Younis Niazi, Wahid Iqbal Butt and others spoke to the meeting presenting different proposals.
Issues related to media workers together with strengthening of Newspaper industry were also discussed in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Information Mansoor Qadir Dar said that Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan have keen interest for the growth of media industry within the State. “Print Media has always performed a positive role for development of mass communication and their determination to highlight Kashmir issue is commendable” Secretary Information stated.
DG Public Relations Raja Azhar Iqbal uttered that Information department will consider the apprehensions of all stake holders before execution of PPRA rules. “Discussions regarding execution of Media policy and reliability of Newspaper industry will remain continuous.” DGPR added.
