Abdul Quddus Bizanjo sworn as new Balochistan CM

Quetta: Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has been sworn in as the fresh Balochistan chief minister (CM) on Saturday after Sanaullah Zehri tendered his resignation the day when a no-confidence motion was to be moved against him in the provincial assembly.
According to media reports, Balochistan governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai administered the oath to the fresh CM.
A one-to-one contest occurred between Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid’s (PML-Q) Bizenjo and Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party’s (PkMAP) Agha Syed Liaqat Ali after Abdul Rahim Khan Ziaratwal withdrew his candidacy.
The session of the House was headed by Speaker Raheela Durrani. More than 50 members were present in the assembly to vote a fresh CM in.
The nominated candidate of PML-N’s dissidents and PML-Q legislators, Bizenjo succeeded to gain 41 votes while his opponent received only 13. Strict security arrangements were made for today’s session.
